The U Casone campsite is located in the small village of Ghisonaccia at the East-coast of Corsica, just 700 meters from a beautiful white-sanded beach. U Casone Camping is the perfect place for people looking to relax at their holiday, with large and green pitches there is enough space to enjoy the tranquility of the area. There is a small store at the campsite to do some small groceries.
The surrounding area is perfect for a nice stroll at the beach, rent a bike and explore the area or rent a canoe and enjoy the nature from the water.
A narrow marked path across from the parking-lot will lead you into the bushes. After a ten minute walk you will reach the hidden water basins with waterfalls mounding into it. Decades of waterflow have worn out a deep hollow in the rocks that goes by the mysterious name Devil's hole. Here you will be able to take a lovely refreshing swim or jump of the rocks. More often then not you will have this place completely to your own, just because it has yet to be discovered by most tourists! So keep it to yourself ;) Please note: do not enter the water on rainy days or right after rainy days, because the water can be very wild and dangerous then. A plaquette on the rocks reminds us of a fatal accident that took place here in 2008.
Take the D268 in Solenzara that takes you across the Col de Larone and drive through the Forêt de Bavella, named after the pass. This is the starting point for shorter or longer hiking trails across the Bavella Massif, righteously called 'The Dolomites of Corsica'. Stop every now and then to enjoy breathtaking views at the spiked peaks or to take a short hike, up the Col de Bavella (1218m) for instance, which will give you a view over the Aiguilles de Bavella (1611m). After the village of Zonza you will drive across the D368 past a beautiful waterfall (Piscia di Gallo) until you will reach the vibrant city of Porto Vecchio.
Visit the historical city center of Bonifacio, which is located on the steep limestone cliffs that rise above the turquoise sea. Bonifacio absolutely belongs to one of the highlights of Corsica. Via a wide stone staircase you will easily walk up to the highest point for a spectacular view over the sea and the hollowed limestone deposits. If you still have some energy left you can walk up to the lighthouse of Cap Pertusato, a peninsula marking the most southern part of Corsica.
Drive in southern direction from the cozy town of Porto to Piana. Very soon you will be amazed by the stunning rocks and views across the sea. Especially in the evening you will be astonished by the views, the setting sun radiating the rocks, giving them a vibrant red color. A phenomenal view to watch these red rocks contrasting the mirror like surface of the sea. On this route you will also find two spectacular hiking trails: a shorter trail from the Tête du Chien to Château Fort (20 min) or a longer one from Chalet les Roches Bleues to Sentier des Muletiers (60 min).
Driving the D84 from Porto to Col de Vergio you will be treated with multiple spectacular views over the 300 meter deep Spelunca gorge. There are multiple hiking trails available in this area, for instance, the ancient mule trail which connects two mountain peaks. You can reach this path by taking the side road at the mountain pass to Ota (D124) and drive to the Deux Ponts d'Ota. From the double bridge you will enter the Spelunca Evisa gorge immediately.
Take the narrow D81 from, or to Porto. Between Galeria and Porto you will find a winding road taking you through a landscape of pointed rocks and steep cliffs that rise from the sea. Be amazed by the views and unprecedented beauty of nature after every bend. Enjoy the Hawaii like landscape with waves breaking on the rocks below. Take a break and enjoy the views and refreshing sea breeze. Please note: don't take this road if you don't feel comfortable with driving narrow roads alongside steep cliffs.
This famous citadel surrounded by water on three sides with rising mountain ranges in the background, belongs to one of the most attractive sights of Corsica. Calvi is surrounded by numerous beaches and campsites which gives you the opportunity to visit the city on foot. Go to the highest point during your trip and feel like you are getting back in time while strolling through the ancient streets of the citadel.
This lunar landscape covered by Mediterranean flora and pristine beaches covers 160km2 and is an absolute must for nature lovers. This colorful nature reserve is still untouched and can not be reached by (regular) car. Reach Corsicas most beautiful beaches and landscapes by foot, by boat or by renting an all-terrain vehicle. In three stages you can walk from Saint-Florent to Plage de Salleccia (6 hours), on to Plage de Ghighnu (3 hours) and all the way to the Ostriconi mouth. Looking for an easier way to reach these gorgeous beaches? In the summer boats commute from Saint-Florent to Plage de Loto. From here it is a one hour walk to Plage Saleccia, a Caribbean-like beach.
This gorgeous waterfall consists of two parts and is beautifully hidden in the mountains. The lower part is not very exciting in the summer, but if you walk up the path at the right hand side of the bridge you will end up at a crystal clear water basin. Here you will be able to swim up to the waterfall and stand underneath it. The water is freezing, but delightfully refreshing on a hot summer day!
If you take the D84 from Corte to Porto, at Castirla you will find the result of the Golo river: Scala di Santa Regina. The Golo has carved a miles-long rock staircase into the granite walls, where a narrow road now runs through with stunning views all across this road.
Within the city of Corte you will find the only citadel the inland of Corsica hosts. The many campsites around Corte are the perfect base start hikes through the rugged mountain ranges. You can also take a hike up to the highest point of the citadel, where you will be able to find numerous nostalgic restaurants and bars where you can relax from the hike or plan your next activity. What about a visit to one of the mysterious mountain lakes like Lac de Melo, Lac de Nino or Lac Creno.

Beautifully located in the Bavella massif and directly located next to a river where you are able to swim in the deeper parts. The campsite has excellent sanitary facilities and truly is a mountain campsite. In short, the perfect base for hikes in the Bavella massif!
A small-scaled campsite in the middle of nature with a lot of shade because of the high pine trees. The campsite is beautifully quiet and the campsite has clean sanitary facilities, picnic tables, a barbecue, a fridge and electricity! In the direct surroundings of the campsite you will find numerous of outdoor activities for both less experienced as well as very experienced adventurers.
This campsite is in walking disctance (15-20 minutes) from the beautiful bay of Rondinara located between Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio. The campsite has a lot of facilities and gorgeous pitches, but it is a bit more expensive than the average campsite and it can be very busy during the summer season. De beauty of the bay is definitely worth it to take a look at this campsite.
This campsite is located directly at a bay with a beautiful sandy beach. The campsite is located in a peaceful area a bit further from the civilized world, so make sure the stock up if you want to prepare your own food. The campsite has all the necessary facilities like a small shop, a restaurant and a bakery. Pricewise it is a bit more expensive then the average campsite, but if you are looking for one or two relaxing days at the beach it is more then worth it!
This small scaled mountain campsite located at a small river, is visited by hikers, bikers and backpackers. All the necessary facilities are present but don't expect any luxury. A place for nature lovers that want to enoy the views at the citadel of Corte after a day in the mountains. The environment, atmosphere, simplicity and locals make this a very unique experience!
This is a very well taken care of campsite at a walking distance (15 min) from Porto. It is beautifully located on a mountainside and has a lot of facilities such as outdoor fitness, heated pool and a supermarket at the entrance. The best pitces can be found all the way at the top, located at a panarama terrace under the swimming pool. These pitches serve beautiful views over the rugged rocks and here you won't be distracted by the facilities that can make you forget that you are in the midst of nature. Please note: in high season this campsite can be crowded and the prices can be a bit higher. You could consider to find a pitch at the Camping Municipal, which is located closer to the beach and city center of Porto Plage.
This middle sized campsite had large beautiful and shaded pitches and is located at a 5 minute walk from the beach. You are welcomed by very friendly hosts and the campsite has neat facilities. From the campsite it is a 20 to 30 minute walk to the city center of Calvi. In the near surroundings you can find various beach restaurants and a supermarket.

Before you hit the road, the Service Point will happily provide you with useful tips about must dos and must visits during your trip. If you choose to include the set up service, your Gear Set will be set up for you at the campsite, all you have to do is relax and enjoy!
